By assessment of the position of the conus medullaris has the potential to allow prenatal diagnosis of closed spina bifida The optimal methodology to assess the position of the conus medullaris is presently unknown.What does this study add? The distance between the most caudal point of the conus medullaris and the last ventral ossification of the sacrum is reproducible and has the potential to aid for the prenatal diagnosis of closed spina bifida.
