The December 2014 issue of PsyCh Journal is a special collection of contributions using data from China in support of a dimensional model of depression, a new diagnostic perspective being explored in contrast to the conventional categorical approach. The articles present a taxometric analysis of depressive symptoms in an urban sample, an examination of neurological correlates of depressive symptoms in an aging subclinical sample, a factorial analysis of the dimensions of depression in an adolescent twin sample, an analysis of the relationship of a specific gene with individual dimensions of depression, and a multi‐wave longitudinal study of how self‐esteem predicted symptom dimensions of depression in a college student sample.
