The α‐methyldeoxybenzoins angolensin, 2‐ O ‐methyl‐angolensin and the pterocarpan maackiain (demethylpterocarpin) have been isolated by bioactivity‐guided fractionation (brine shrimp test) from the bark of the medicinal African plant, Pericopsis ( Afrormosia ) laxiflora .
