A new trihydroxy neoö‐clerodane diterpene , infuscatin, has been isolated from Salvia infuscata. Its structure was established as 15,16‐epoxy‐4β, 8α, 10β‐trihydroxy neo ‐cleroda‐1,13(16),14‐trien‐17,12R,18,19‐diolide by spectroscopic means, including 1 H 1 H COSY, 13 C NMR, DEPT 135, DEPT 90, COLOC and NOE differential experiments.
