Epoxy/SWN nanocomposites, based on the diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (Epon 828) cured by polyoxypropylene triamine (T‐430), were prepared by in situ polymerization. The effect of SWN content on the nanocomposites was investigated, and the morphology and properties were elucidated. The degree of dispersion of SWN loading in the nanocomposites was demonstrated by using X‐ray diffraction and transmission electron microscope. The thermal and mechanical properties of the composite tended to become better, as the SWN content increased. Furthermore, we will also discuss the barrier properties and chemical resistance of the epoxy/SWN nanocomposites observed by scanning electron microscope. POLYM.
