Investigating the influence of aerodynamic loads on the flexible car‐body of high speed trains (HST) , a method to investigate the elastic vibrations of the car‐body modeled as a dynamic system, induced by aerodynamic‐loads during operation, was developed based on an equivalent force system. A reduced degree of freedom model was developed by considering master nodes in the full‐scale model. The results demonstrate the feasibility of our proposed method which introduces aerodynamic‐loads as input to analyze the aerodynamic performance of a HST with a flexible car‐body. The new method can also reduce the time consumption in the multi‐body dynamics calculation and provide more information of the elastic vibration of a car‐body.
