Detailed simulations for flamelet modelling of SO x formation from coal

This paper reports on recent progress in the modelling of pulverised coal flames. A brief review of current research on fully‐resolved and Euler‐Lagrange simulations in the context of flamelet modelling of pulverised coal combustion is given first. This is followed by more recent results from the flamelet modelling of SO x formation due to fuel‐S in pulverised coal flames.
