To further speed up the frequency‐domain fatigue life estimation procedure for vehicle components with large numbers of spot‐welds, several measures are proposed. A two‐scale FE‐approach based on a pre‐processed library for various spot‐weld‐ / sheet‐geometries, applying the cutting plane method, and a priori stress estimations reduce the necessary CPU‐time considerably and allow for an efficient consideration of different load histories.
