In this paper, we present visco‐plastic effects of vitreous silica. By introducing a stepwise loading‐relaxation procedure, we evaluate a quasi‐static hysteresis and observe permanent plastic deformation. The investigation of the medium‐range order of the sample at various deformation states provides new insights into the changes of the atomistic arrangements caused by the plastification.
