In this contribution the flow inside a simplified device for profile extrusion is investigated. Focus of this work is the cooling rate dependent crystallization model describing the latent heat release and state of solidification. The flow behavior is described using the exponential form of the Phan‐Thien Tanner model. Calculations are performed using OpenFOAM.
