Open‐cell structures like open‐pore foams have several applications, e.g. as acoustic damping material in civil engineering. Most models for such materials capture the static but not the dynamic behavior correctly. In order to develop a model which is able to describe the static and the dynamic properties, an analysis of the microstructure is required. Three dimensional micro computer tomography (µCT) scans allow studying the relevant material features. Suitable methods summarized in [1] and [2] are used to determine the topological parameters of open‐pore PUR foam. Simplified models based on the extracted structural parameters are studied here.
