Recently Kirchdoerfer and Ortiz proposed a new computing paradigm, called data‐driven computing [1]. It is a new approach to overcome uncertainties in the modeling process of the material law. The aim of this work is to compare the solutions of the data‐driven method with classical finite element solutions and an analytic solution. A simple elastic problem is considered and solutions of all methods are presented.
