A method to quantify macroscopic uncertainty caused by variation of the microstructure morphology is proposed by expanding the idea of SSRVEs to variations of microstructures within certain bounds of statistical descriptors. Subsequent homogenization of the RVEs leads to statistical information regarding the variation of macroscopic material properties for further uncertainty analysis. (© 2017 Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
