By using the stereographic projection to satisfy the constant magnetization magnitude, a constraint‐free phase field model is developed for ferromagnetic materials. Implemented by finite element method, the model is shown to be capable of simulating magnetic domain, vortex, and hysteresis curves. (© 2016 Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
