The paper represents an analysis of different approaches to solve a specific practical task – to find a solution of the inhomogeneous differential equation, which describes tire lateral deformation by means of the beam theory. The equation has fourth order and is linear, the inhomogeneneous part is discrete nonmonotone function. The options to substitute this function with polynomial, linear segments or Fourier series are compared concerning solution error and computation time. (© 2016 Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
