We report on the numerical modeling of laser‐induced cavitation bubbles with the finite volume method using the open source software package OpenFOAM. The numerical model is validated by comparison to experimental data for the two cases of a bubble collapsing under normal ambient conditions in an unbounded liquid as well as close to a solid wall.
