In this work, we analyze a strategy for the selection of the adequate RVE size for elastic problems on thin sheets with strong texture. The selection strategy includes the construction of the geometric descriptor as periodic tesselation of the sheets and the stochastic assignment of stiffness matrices for the different material grains inside the RVE. The procedure is illustrated with an example on DC01 steel sheets with thickness 50 µm. (© 2013 Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
