In this article, a macroscopic 4‐phase model, based on the Theory of Porous Media, is presented to simulate healing processes in a polymere matrix. The healing process is described by the phase transition of two constituents, i.e., from liquid like healing agents to solid like healed material. As a first step, the healing mechanism begins at a certain time and is not driven by a healing criterion. A numerical example will be presented to demonstrate the applicability of the model in view of the description of healing processes. (© 2012 Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
