A mechanic‐stochastic model for the mechanics of polycrystal material based on the single crystal orientations is presented. With this method, the distributions of strain and stress tensor components can be obtained in practice. Specific examples of computed distributions are shown, together with the distributions of the FEM‐calculated mechanical responses of a polycrystal. (© 2010 Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
