We present a numerical model for the simulation of the flow in semicircular canals (SCCs). The governing equations for the flow are solved with the method of fundamental solutions (MFS), a mesh free method for boundary value problems. We describe the flow field in a SCC with utricle, and we find a vortex that had not yet been reported in literature. (© 2009 Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
