The SBFEM is used to calculate dynamic stiffness matrices of unbounded media. Time–domain respresentations of the associated force–displacement relationship are obtained approximating the latter by rational functions. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
