This paper is devoted to the study of wave propagation within anisotropic structures made of the periodic repetition of un‐braced frames. Thanks to the homogenization method of periodic discrete media, a macroscopic description of the system is obtained. Then the effects on the wave propagation of anisotropy and resonance in bending of the elements are presented. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
