In this paper, we discuss iterative operator‐splitting methods for wave equations motivated from a realistic problem in seismic sources and waves. The operator splitting methods are well‐known to solve such complicated multi‐dimensional and multi‐physical problems, while decomposing into simpler and computable equations.
