Using the definitions of δ ‐ and δ ′‐shocks for some systems of conservation laws, the corresponding Rankine–Hugoniot conditions are derived. We also derive the balance laws describing area, volume, mass and momentum transportation between the area outside the wave front and the wave front. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
