The van der Waals interaction elastic force is included in the modeling of multi‐walled carbon nanotubes (MWNT) as an Euler‐Bernoulli elastic system. The coupled eigenvalue problem is formulated in terms of a basis generated by a fundamental matrix response. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
