A variant of the Boundary Integral Equation method for the numerical study of dielectric particles has been developed. In addition to the advantages of the classical BEI method, the proposed modification allows to study the particles of almost arbitrary shape, including the accurate numerical treatment of the integral equation singularities and geometrical singularities of the particle boundary. It guarantees the fast and accurate solution with small computer resources. (© 2005 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
