Two linearly coupled Van‐der‐Pol oscillators are considered in the case of a small frequency detuning of the oscillators as well as weak coupling. The occurring resonant Hopf bifurcation leading to synchronized motions is examined and analytical approximations of the oscillation amplitudes and the synchronous frequency are derived.
