In 2002 Kotakemori et al. have reported the Modified Gauss‐Seidel method with a preconditioner ( I + S max ). The convergence of the new method they investigated only for Z‐matrices, for which the new method can be superior to other iterative methods. But, in the case of H‐matrices this method can be superior to the others, too. In this paper we will give some sufficient conditions for the convergence in the case of H‐matrices.
