Force induced dynamic bending of sandwich beams composed of three symmetrically arranged layers are studied. Moderately thick elastic layers made of dissimilar transversal isotropic materials are considered. If rigid bond between the layers cannot be achieved, due to relative deformation of the connectors an interlayer slip occurs, that can significantly affect both strength and deformation of the layered structure. Analyzing two special cases of interlaminar connections, i.e., “perfect bond” and “elastic interlayer slip”, a complete analogy between the corresponding initialboundary value problems is derived. Hence, the dynamic response of the beam with elastic interlayer slip can be determined directly from the solution of the perfectly bonded sandwich beam with moderately thick faces.
