The macroscopic behaviour of foams is influenced by the size and structure of the pores. Therefore, a Cosserat theory is motivated by a micromechanical beam model. A homogenization strategy is applied to the micromechanical model leading to results that are comparable to the predictions of the macroscopic Cosserat model.
