The Chartered Insurance Institute's campaign to raise professionalism in financial advice is shaping the future of the industry. Our aim is to protect the public and ensure better levels of service by driving a step change in behaviour and professional standards. Success factors have included clear aims and objectives (concentrating on a single issue), the ability to build momentum for our proposals and sustaining interest, and developing an industry consensus in support of our proposals. The campaign has influenced the thinking of the regulator with them adopting our proposals around raising professionalism. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
