Representative C 15 Nuphar alkaloids, containing the quinolizidine system, were studied by high‐resolution mass spectrometry and metastable‐ion decomposition analysis. The appearance with N ‐oxide species of ions at m / z 168, useful in ascertaining the stereochemistry of the quinolizidinic ring junction, are also discussed.
