The thermospray mass spectrometry (TSP/MS) of five N ‐methylcarbamates is presented. This is the first time that ions other than [M + H] + and [M + NH 4 ] + have been reported using positive TSP/MS. Protonation of ROCONHCH 3 yields the [CH 3 NH 2 CO] +· ion, with formation of the ion–molecule adduct [ROCONHCH 3 · CH 3 NH 2 CO] +· through elimination of CO +· from [CH 3 NH 2 CO] +· , and the adduct [M + 75] +· , [ROCONHCH 3 · OCONH 2 CH 3 ] +· , is also obtained.
