The electron impact induced fragmentation of some new derivatives of imidazolidin‐2,4‐dione and 4‐imidazoJin‐2‐one has been examined. The main fragmentation pathways have been established with the help of appropriate metastables and high resolution measurements. The effect of isomerization of 4‐aryliminoimidazolidin‐2‐ones to 4‐arylamino‐4‐imidazolin‐2‐ones and conversely, 4‐aryldo‐4‐imidazolin‐2‐ones to 4‐aryliminoimidazolidin‐2‐ones on fragmentation has been investigated by temperature dependence measurements and deuterium labelling.
