The unusual fragments noticed in the mass spectra of N ‐benzyl‐ and N,N ‐dibenzylanthranilic acids have been explained on the basis of the ortho interaction of the carboxyl group with the N ‐benzyl‐ and N,N ‐dibenzyl moieties.
