Electrohydrodynamic ionization mass spectrometry has been applied to the analysis of 2‐naphthol‐3,6‐disulfonic acid, disodium salt and 4,5‐dihydroxy‐2,7‐naphthalenedisulfonic acid, disodium salt. The negative ion mass spectra indicate ions characteristic of the sample and no fragment ions are observed. Degrees of dissociation of the sulfonates and the ion‐solvent interactions are reflected in the negative ion spectra.
