A new approach is described for identifying structural isomers which cannot be distin‐guished on the basis of their electron‐impact mass spectra. Using a pulsed ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometer, equilibrium constsnts are measured for ion‐molecule reactions involving various C 8 H 10 isomers and C 7 H 8 O isomers. The equilibrium constants are shown to be highly sensitive to the structural features of the various isomers.
