Abstract A mass spectrometric study of five diacetyl[3]ferrocenophanes has been made. The molecular ion was the base peak in these five compounds. Fragment ions with relative intensities greater than 10 percent occurred only in those compounds having an acetyl group in the alpha position to the trimethylene bridge.
