Three bicyclic thioketones were examined by combined gas chromatography‐mass spectrometry. Deuterium labelling was employed in the interpretation of the fragmentation processes in thiocamphor. Compared with the oxygen analogues, the thiones yielded on electron‐impact a higher proportion of characteristic fragment ions containing the hetero‐atom.
