The m/e 226 peak in the mass spectrum of 1,1‐dimethyl‐2,2‐dibenzoylhydrazine is formed by loss of C 2 H 4 N from the molecular ion, a process involving concerted transfer of two hydrogen atoms from the same methyl group as an accompaniment to NN bond fission.
