This paper deals with the stabilization problems for a class of Markovian jump systems with time delays which are time varying and depending on system mode. Following the recent study on the class of systems, improved sufficient condition for stochastic stability of the underlying systems is derived by constructing a different Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional. Basing on this new criterion, a stabilization algorithm through memory state feedback controller is designed. Illustrative numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approaches. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
