The sensitivity analysis approach is applied to the hydro‐thermal problem. Its use for rescheduling in the presence of load forecasting errors and inflow forecast errors is developed. Its use for identification of important parameters in the system is also shown. Application to two sample power systems permits some practical conclusions to be drawn for similar hydro‐thermal systems.
