In this article, we are concerned with the Γ ‐finite‐time stabilization ( Γ ‐FTS) with optimal performance for the continuous‐time system. The definition of Γ ‐FTS is first proposed. The main contribution is to give the equivalent conditions for the open‐loop solvability and sufficient conditions for the closed‐loop solvability of the Γ ‐FTS problem with optimal performance for the finite‐time interval. Moreover, we show that the irregular optimal control problem is solvable under the Γ ‐FTS of a specific system.
