In this paper we extend in 3D a 2D Lagrange finite element technique proposed previously in Guermond and Minev (Mod. Math. Anal. Num. 2001) for solving the Maxwell equations in the low‐frequency limit in a domain composed of conducting and insulating regions. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
