“[Learning about] the arts can be a little alienating,” said Inez Bush, director of professional development and extension education at the Otis College of Art and Design. “It's like going into a gallery for non‐artists — it can be really hard to cross the threshold.” To facilitate lifelong learning in the Los Angeles community, as well as provide an access point to the understanding of the arts, Otis College offers a robust catalog of continuing education offerings, including professional development workshops. Bush shared strategies for recruiting adult learners in the community, generating enrollment by offering the professional development workshops free to teachers, and more.
