CHICAGO — Finding ways to measure prior learning is critical for your adult students, in particular those who may be matriculating from a stint in the military. One of the ways to award credit for prior learning to these students is to utilize the College Level Examination Program. CLEP is a credit‐by‐exam program that validates knowledge your students already have and translates that learning into commonly accepted college credit units. At the Council on Adult and Experiential Learning conference, Suzanne McGurk and Kathie Montognese, both senior assessment manager at the College Board, shared updates, best practices, and things you need to know to help your institution better utilize CLEP credits to serve the needs of these learners.
