Victoria Nielsen ended up at Ventura College working with adults by being an adult student. When she moved back to California after living in Chicago, Nielsen knew she wanted to diversify her skill set by returning to college to study child development. Nielsen found a job as a student‐worker in the admissions and records office while she was pursuing her own courses before moving to the position of matriculation specialist in Ventura's Student Assessment Department. During that time, Nielsen managed to take a full course load at Ventura while also working 40 hours a week.
