Colleges and universities focus on providing degree programs for students. But students don't stop learning when they move their tassel to the other side of the mortarboard. Gary Matkin, Ph.D., dean of continuing education, distance learning, and summer sessions at the University of California, Irvine, has a vision for a 60‐year curriculum to meet students' learning needs well beyond the degree.
