Angela Tekely, Ed.D., loves commencement day. As dean of the College of LifeLong Learning and assistant vice president of academic affairs at Immaculata University, she has watched the adult learners gain confidence as they complete their degrees. They make a conscious decision to go to college, even though they have so much going on with their lives, she said. Many of them come in tentatively saying, “I think I want to finish.” But by graduation day, they walk out with confidence, she said.
