SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS — Barack Obama's proposal for America's College Promise has been met with both concerns and applause, both from those firmly entrenched in academia and those within the business sphere. “We had the same sort of cynicism in 2009 before we embarked on the student success and completion agenda,” said J. Noah Brown, current president and chief executive officer of the Association of Community College Trustees. Brown spoke on a panel of experts regarding America's College Promise during the annual American Association of Community Colleges convention.
